Fun without skis

For those that don't ski, or maybe you just feel like a day off from the slopes, there’s plenty to enjoy at Chilly Powder and in the local area. From in-house pottery workshops with Francesca, to relaxing massage treatments and soaking in our outdoor hot tub, there are endless ways to unwind. Whether you fancy something relaxing, or maybe more adventurous and high adrenaline - there's plenty to do.

 
 

Pottery lessons

Francesca runs pottery sessions here at Chilly Powder, perfect for trying something creative during your stay. These three-hour lessons (2pm - 5pm) are available any afternoon of the week (during our winter season) for up to three people. You’ll explore hand building and wheel work, with plenty of guidance.

The cost is €70 per person, or €60 p/p if booking as a pair or €55 p/p as a trio. There’s a small additional charge for clay, and postage costs if you’d like your finished creations sent to you once they’re dried and ready.

Hot tub

Our hot tubs are designed to melt away stress, relax your muscles, and leave you feeling rejuvenated. Enjoy a soak in the communal hot tub at Hotel Au Coin du Feu or if staying in one of our chalet's unwind in the privacy of your own hot tub, all surrounded by serene mountain views.

Snow-shoeing 

From leisurely family outings to more sportive treks; the local provider Evolution2 offer trips to suit your needs and wishes. Explore Avoriaz and its surroundings; discover life in the forest and search for animal tracks; look for Chamois in the reserve and visit the Alpage village.

Night sledging

Horse drawn sleighs

Experience a magical horse-drawn sleigh tour in Avoriaz, gliding through snowy streets and scenic trails. Perfect for families or a romantic outing, these tours offer a charming, slow-paced way to enjoy the winter mountains.

Husky dog rides

Be in charge of your own sled and team of excitable husky dogs, driving them along forest paths. After a brief explanation of how to make your team stop and start (you shout "mush!") you set off following the guide. Your huskies want to keep up with their doggy mates, so the next hour is truly exhilarating.

Morzine swimming pool

The pool in Morzine is open each day between 12.00 and 8.00pm (or 2.00 pm until 8.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays). There is a 25m pool with lanes plus child pool and jacuzzi.

Spa/massage

At Chilly Powder, relaxation comes as a standard. Our in-house spa/massage treatments are the perfect way to restore balance after a day on the mountain. Choose from a range of options including deep tissue and sports massage to ease tired muscles, or aromatherapy and relaxation treatments to calm the mind.

Ice skating

Outdoor – Glide across the ice at the outdoor rink in the tourist office square, open daily 10.30 am–12.30 pm and 3–7 pm, with ice shows on Thursdays.

Indoor – Skate at Parc des Dereches, open daily with night sessions 9–11 pm on Tuesday and Thursday (may be postponed for hockey or events).

Skates can be hired at both venues.

Paragliding

Discover paragliding – take your first flight in tandem with a qualified instructor. Avoriaz is one of the few resorts offering a magnificent 1200 meters of vertical descent. An intermediate level of skiing is required for winter take-offs e.g. able to ski blue runs with confidence.

Speed-riding

Get an introduction to this fun activity with a qualified instructor - between skiing and flying, between earth and sky, you'll get to unreachable spots! No need to know how to drive a wing, though you have to be a quite good skier.

Nordic walking

Discover the pleasure of Nordic walking in Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil. Energetic walking with poles along snowy winter walking tracks/alternating between forest trails and sunny paths.

Set off along the walking trails around the area on one of these little two-wheeled electric vehicles.

Ski doo rides

Once the slopes are closed for the night, discover the ski area in a completely new motorised way, and you will feel as if you are in the Far North! Enjoy 45 minutes of a guided 20km outing through the forest of Super-Morzine. Single and tandem snowmobiles available, everyday from 5.30pm to midnight.

Aquariaz water park

Aquariaz in Avoriaz is an indoor water park with lazy river, climbing wall, lugs and half pipe. It is open each day apart from Saturday between 2.00pm and 8.00pm.
